After being raised in Michigan and Maryland my husband Ben and I “passed thru” Boone in 1977. We stayed! I love both the people and the surroundings here and each have been an inspiration to my artistry.
I would have to say the greatest work of art I have ever been a part of are my six children. They teamed together eight years ago to put me in a class at Doe Ridge Pottery under Bob Meier. That was the start! I had never touched clay before, but it quickly became a creative passion. It amazes me that 8 years later my passion for this art has remained and grown. I continue to be inspired at this creative process.
I began primarily with an interest in hand-building but after a few years enjoyed the challenge of the wheel. Now my love is to intertwine the two sculpturaly.
My pots are meant to make the viewer smile or invoke a sense of serenity. I am in the process of writing stories for the pots and will post them shortly.
My work can primarily be seen at Doe Ridge Pottery where I work part time.
